Georgia Aquarium is the World's Largest

In 2001 Bernard Marcus envisioned the World’s Largest Aquarium for Atlanta Georgia to encourage financial growth and to provide education to the community. He did his research and traveled 13 countries and observed 56 aquariums to the smallest detail.

Bernard proved how much he wanted an aquarium for Atlanta when he donated 250 million dollars and obtained donations of 40 million---so the aquarium could open without obligation---it was debt free.

Jeffery Scott Swanagan was responsible for most of the aquarium’s creation and design. His resume included other aquariums and zoos of which he was the American Director. His brilliance of the Georgia Aquarium has been recognized many times over as millions visit each year.

After over two years of construction the Georgia Aquarium opened on November 21, 2005. It was built on land donated by the Coca-Cola Company. The aquarium building covers 13 acres and hold 8,000,000 of fresh and salt water.

Today it has over 120,000 fish, sea creatures and 500 plus different species. The physical address of the Aquarium is 225 Baker Street and hours are Sunday---Friday 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Saturday 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Always check for “Holiday Hours” which may be different. Everyone who visits goes through a security check so everyone should feel very safe with their families. I know I am glad to know this information ahead of time.

Thanks to these two great visionaries Bernard Marcus and Jeffery Scott Swanagan  we have an amazing Aquarium to visit and enjoy for many decades to come.

Kuroshio Sea---Aquarium is the Second Largest in the World.

Kuroshio is in Japan and located on the southern tip which makes it the best aquarium real estate in the world. Kuroshio is a new town formed March, 2006 from the fusion of two towns of Ogata and Saga from the Hata District.

Tourist gathers to the area in the summer for camping and surfing. Many volunteers are up at sunrise to help the newly hatched baby turtles make their way to the sea. They protect the baby turtles from birds and people walking on the beach.

Kuroshio is famous within Japan for its Skipjack Tuna fishing. Many fishermen fish for them since they are valuable for food and to sell.

Seafood Festival in 2013

Revel in the beautiful sunshine of the Florida Keys while attending the January Seafood Festival. Always call ahead for the exact date in January so you and your family will not miss it.
It is located at Bayview Park in Key West for more information ---www.fkcfa.org
When the rest of the USA is snowing---Florida has its warm sunshine where families enjoy all the outdoor activities.

Plan a “Mini-Vacation” around the Seafood Festivals in Florida and you will be glad you did. Bring your camera and share your fun in the sun. There is nothing like the outdoors in Florida---we are very spoiled with all the beaches and places to visit.

So make your plans to enjoy life in the sun and share with family and friends. You will want to return every year for more seafood, entertainment, booths galore, plants, shop until you drop and have the best time of your life.

Here are the current Seafood Food Festivals and I will be adding more as time goes on.

Port Salerno Seafood Festival is an annual event on January 29th in Martin County Florida.  Where it boasts about the 82 degrees this time of year in the beautiful Florida Sunshine. They expect 40,000 + people to attend the Seafood Festival.

This town was created in 1920 it was a small village in the southern part of St. Lucie River Inland, and was named Salerno which has been renamed Port Salerno. This is known for the Worlds Fishing Tournaments.

It is where people come to enjoy the beauty of the water and eat all the seafood they desire at the different restaurants on the waterfronts.

As you walk through the many booths of the festivals you will also find many booths that are concerned with maintaining their beauty of the land and water. Not only can one enjoy all the events but one can contribute to the community to keep the area in the best shape possible.

When we enjoy something it is our personal concern to keep it for the generations to come so they may enjoy it also.

However, please enjoy this video of the Port Salerno Seafood Festival last year and consider attending this year.

Cedar Key Seafood Festivals

Everyone has a great time at the Cedar Key Florida Seafood Festival. Bring your lawn chair and sit a spell to listen to the banjo music.

Just being in Cedar Key is a great treat---my family and I visit when we can. I love the smell of the fresh air and walking around the little shops and on the pier.

I like to visit the Pelicans and take pictures of them as they rest on the pier hoping for a free fish.

See the people enjoying the seafood, watching and listening to the entertainment, being outside in the warm sunshine, it does not get any better than this folks.

It is so much fun walking around and looking at all the painting from local artist and ones from around the world. Artists' works are on display, arts and crafts, woodwork, handmade jewelry, they have booths for everything.

Food Booths are so amazing delicious and eating outside in the Gulf air makes it taste better.

And one can sit and listen to the singing until the sun goes down. The festivals are always for two days and so many comes from near and far to have the time of their life.

But if you want to stay the weekend---make your reservation early and confirm it before you go.
